Your next SPM Chemistry students do not need to live in Sabah for you to teach them. Teach online and one to one, freelance and part-time, from RM50/hr depending on experience and availability.
Teaching from Sabah
Teachers living anywhere in Sabah can apply here. The towns listed below each have their own posting, but the role is the same across the state.
Sabah, on the island of Borneo, is Malaysia’s easternmost state, from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan, Tawau and the interior.
You can be based anywhere in Sabah and still teach a full timetable of students. Online lessons mean your students may be in another state entirely.
Because lessons run online, your location in Sabah only matters for one thing: a quiet room and a steady connection. Everything else, from notes to past-year questions, is shared on screen.
The work
A typical lesson mixes concept teaching with exam questions, taught in English over video. Because it is one to one, you can slow down or speed up for the student in front of you.
School holidays and the months before SPM tend to be busier. If you can offer extra hours then, say so, and keep a lighter load the rest of the year.
Students come to us for help with the hard parts of SPM Chemistry: the mole, electrochemistry, organic chemistry and Paper 3 practicals. You teach those ideas in English, at the pace one student needs.
Evenings and weekends are when most students want lessons, which suits teachers with a day job. If you have daytime slots too, mention them.
What we look for
- Experience teaching SPM / KSSM Chemistry
- Familiarity with the current syllabus (SPM 4541) and Papers 1, 2 and 3
- Clear English, the language of our lessons
- A quiet space, a reliable connection and a device with a camera
