If you teach SPM Chemistry and live in Kota Belud, you can teach our students one to one from home. The role is freelance and part-time, with pay from RM50/hr depending on your experience and availability.

Teaching from Kota Belud

This posting covers Kota Belud and the surrounding Kota Belud district in Sabah. If you live nearby but not in Kota Belud itself, apply anyway and tell us your town.

Kota Belud is best known for its tamu, the great open-air market held each Sunday, and once a year the far larger Tamu Besar, one of the most famous cultural gatherings in Sabah. Behind the town rise the foothills below Mount Nungkok, the peak known as Anak Kinabalu, the child of Mount Kinabalu.

In a full rural classroom a single shaky topic slips past easily.

You can be based anywhere in Kota Belud and still teach a full timetable of students. Online lessons mean your students may be in another state entirely.

The work

The teaching is focused: SPM Chemistry for Form 4 and 5, one student per lesson, in English. You bring the explanations and exam know-how, and we bring the students.

Evenings and weekends are when most students want lessons, which suits teachers with a day job. If you have daytime slots too, mention them.

You teach one student at a time, so every lesson is built around what that student needs next. Expect mole calculations one week and Paper 3 practical answers the next.

Part-time here means your hours, not ours. Share your weekly availability in the application and we will only offer lessons that fit it.

What we look for

  • Experience teaching SPM / KSSM Chemistry
  • Familiarity with the current syllabus (SPM 4541) and Papers 1, 2 and 3
  • Clear English, the language of our lessons
  • A quiet space, a reliable connection and a device with a camera
