Our SPM Chemistry tuition costs from RM50 an hour, varying with the teacher's experience. There are no packages, no registration fee and no lock-in, you pay per lesson, and the exact rate for your child's teacher is confirmed on WhatsApp before you start.
The one-hour trial is paid, not free.
We try to be as clear about fees as we are about teaching, because parents deserve to know what something costs before they commit. Our SPM Chemistry tuition starts from RM50 an hour, one-to-one and online, and the exact rate depends on the experience of the experienced teacher we assign your child.
There are no packages, no registration fees and no lock-in contracts. This page explains how the pricing works, why the rate varies, what is included, and why we ask for a paid trial rather than offering a free one.
How much does it cost?
Fees start from RM50 an hour. That is the starting rate; the exact figure for your child depends on which teacher we assign, because more experienced teachers may charge more.
Whatever the rate, we tell you the precise figure for your child’s teacher on WhatsApp before any lesson happens, so there are never surprises. You pay per lesson, there is no package to buy upfront and no registration fee.
A typical arrangement is one lesson a week, rising around exams, but you decide the frequency and can change it whenever your child’s needs change.
Why does the rate vary?
Because teachers are not interchangeable. A teacher who has been teaching SPM Chemistry for many years, or who has a strong exam-marking or specialist background, brings more to a lesson than someone earlier in their career, and their rate reflects that.
Rather than pretend every teacher is the same and charge a flat fee, we assign your child a teacher who fits their level, goal and budget, and quote that teacher’s actual rate. If a higher-experience teacher is not necessary for your child’s needs, we will say so; if your child is chasing an A+ and would benefit from a more experienced specialist, we will explain that too.
The RM50 figure is the floor, not a bait price.
What is included in the fee?
The fee covers the one-to-one lesson itself, a full hour (or longer, by arrangement) of live teaching with an experienced teacher, on a shared digital whiteboard, focused entirely on your child. It also covers the teacher’s preparation and the marking and feedback that go with it: the teacher plans around your child’s weak points, marks the practice they attempt between lessons, and gives you honest updates on progress.
There are no separate charges for materials or “notes”; the teaching and the feedback are the service. Because lessons are online, there are also no travel costs or time for your family.
Why a paid trial instead of a free one?
Many tuition services advertise a free first lesson. We deliberately do not, and the reason is about honesty rather than money.
A free taster tends to become a sales session, a teacher on their best behaviour for an hour designed to sign you up. A paid trial, at the teacher’s normal rate, is a full, ordinary, real lesson: the teacher teaches exactly as they would in an ongoing arrangement, and your child does real work.
That is the only fair way to judge whether the teacher explains clearly, whether your child engages, and whether the match is right. If it is, you continue; if it is not, you have still had a genuine hour of teaching and there is nothing to cancel.
We would rather charge for an honest lesson than give away a misleading one.
No packages, no lock-in
We do not sell packages, and there is no minimum term or contract. You pay for each lesson as you go.
This matters for two reasons. First, it keeps us honest: we have to earn every lesson by being useful, because you can stop at any time.
Second, it fits how a real school year works, you can have one lesson a week through the term, add a second before a major exam, ease off in a quiet stretch, or pause entirely during a holiday, all without penalty or forfeited package fees. The frequency should follow your child’s needs, not a contract.
How the rate compares
We do not publish other providers’ prices or claim to be the cheapest, because tuition fees vary widely and any “market rate” figure we invented would be unreliable. What we can say honestly is how the value works: a one-to-one lesson costs more per hour than a seat in a large group class, but it often needs fewer hours, because none of the time is spent waiting, being taught to the class average, or managing a room.
For a subject as cumulative as Chemistry, an hour of focused attention on your child’s actual gaps usually does more than several hours in a crowded class. Whether that trade-off is right for your family is your decision, and the paid trial is the low-risk way to test it.
How to get the exact rate and start
To get the exact rate for your child, message us on WhatsApp with your child’s form and target grade. We reply the same day, understand the needs, assign a teacher suited to your child, and tell you that teacher’s precise hourly rate before anything is booked.
You then decide whether to go ahead with the one-hour paid trial. There is no obligation and no registration step in between.
See how it works for the full process, or read the trial and cancellation policy for the details on rescheduling and refunds.
Lessons are in English
Our lessons are conducted in English. The SPM Chemistry papers are bilingual, printed in both Bahasa Melayu and English, so working in English prepares your child to answer confidently in either version.
In a one-to-one setting the teacher can still clarify a difficult term in the way your child understands, because the lesson is tuned to one student.
What affects how many lessons your child needs
The hourly rate is only half the cost picture; the other half is how many lessons your child needs, and that varies a lot. A student who is broadly on track and wants sharpening for an A+ may need only a short, focused run of lessons.
A student rebuilding weak foundations usually needs a steadier weekly rhythm over a longer period. A repeat or last-quarter candidate often concentrates lessons into an intensive window and then stops.
Because you pay per lesson, the total cost scales to the actual need rather than a one-size package, and the teacher will give you an honest view early on of roughly how much support your child is likely to benefit from, never inflating it to sell more lessons. If fewer lessons will do, we will tell you.
Paying and scheduling
Payment is arranged directly and simply, per lesson, at the rate confirmed on WhatsApp; the exact method is agreed when you start and is set out in our trial and cancellation policy. Scheduling is flexible because lessons are online, you and the teacher agree times that fit your child’s week, and can adjust around school exams, holidays and busy periods.
If a lesson needs to be rescheduled, that is handled reasonably rather than penalised; the details of notice periods and any rescheduling terms are in the trial and cancellation policy, which we keep clear and fair.
A note on value and affordability
We know tuition is a real expense for a family, and we would rather you spend it well than spend a lot. That is why the model is built to avoid waste: no package you might not use, no lock-in that outlasts the need, one-to-one time that is entirely your child’s, and honest advice about how much support is actually worthwhile.
If at any point continuing is not delivering value, you can simply stop, there is nothing to unwind. Our aim is that every hour you pay for moves your child’s Chemistry forward in a way you can see, and the paid trial is designed to let you check that is true before you commit to anything further.
