This is a freelance, part-time role teaching Form 4 and Form 5 KSSM Chemistry (SPM 4541) online, one student at a time, in English, from anywhere in Malaysia. Pay is from RM50/hr depending on your experience and availability, agreed with you on WhatsApp, and you apply by sending us a WhatsApp message and your CV.

We are looking for experienced SPM Chemistry teachers who want to teach online, one-to-one, on hours that suit them. This is a freelance, part-time role: you teach Form 4 and Form 5 students from home, anywhere in Malaysia, and we take care of finding the students.

If you already know the KSSM Chemistry syllabus well and enjoy helping a single student understand a hard idea, this page explains how the role works and how to apply.

What the role is

The role is Online SPM Chemistry Teacher (Freelance, Part-Time). You teach KSSM Chemistry for Form 4 and Form 5, preparing students for SPM Chemistry (subject code 4541) across Papers 1, 2 and 3.

Every lesson is one-to-one and fully online, by video. Lessons are taught in English, which is the lesson language across our service.

Because the role is freelance, you decide how many hours you offer and when. Many of our teachers fit lessons around school work, other teaching or family time, and the role is designed to allow that.

You can live in any of Malaysia’s 13 states or in Kuala Lumpur, Labuan or Putrajaya. All you need is a reliable connection and a quiet place to teach.

Who you will teach and what a lesson looks like

You will teach Form 4 and Form 5 students who are working towards SPM Chemistry. Some are rebuilding confidence after falling behind, and others are capable students aiming for an A or A+.

We assign each student the teacher best suited to their needs. That means we consider the student’s form, goals, schedule and current level before we bring a lesson to you.

A typical lesson is a focused hour with one student on video. You might explain a concept such as the mole, work through calculations together, and then practise exam-style questions.

Because there is only one student, you can see exactly where their understanding breaks down. You can slow down, try a different explanation, or move ahead quickly when they are ready.

Good lessons connect the syllabus to how SPM questions are actually written and marked. Helping a student structure a Paper 2 answer or plan a Paper 3 practical response is as valuable as teaching the content itself.

Parents choose us because they want a specialist in SPM Chemistry. You will be teaching students and families who value that focus and take the subject seriously.

What you get

Flexibility and your own hours. You choose when you are available, and lessons are arranged around the hours you offer.

Teaching from home. There is no travel and no commuting between houses or centres. You teach from your own space, wherever you live in Malaysia.

Steady, SPM-focused students. We work only in SPM Chemistry, so the students who come to you are all preparing for the same exam you know well. Our team has taught more than 5,000 students, and families across Malaysia come to us for this one subject.

One-to-one teaching. You work with a single student at a time, which is often the most rewarding way to teach. You see progress lesson by lesson and can shape each session around one learner.

An experienced-teacher standard. Every teacher on our team meets the same standard, and parents know that. You join a team that is recognised for experience rather than volume.

Students across Malaysia. Because lessons are online, you can teach students from many different states. Your teaching is not limited by where you happen to live.

Qualifications we look for

These are the requirements for the role:

  • Experience teaching SPM / KSSM Chemistry. We look for a substantial track record, typically many years of teaching the subject.
  • Familiarity with the current syllabus. You know the KSSM Chemistry syllabus for Form 4 and Form 5 (SPM 4541) and the Paper 1, 2 and 3 format.
  • Clear spoken and written English. Lessons are taught in English, so you need to explain chemistry clearly and accurately in English.
  • A reliable teaching setup. You need a stable internet connection, a quiet space, and a computer or tablet with a working camera and microphone.
  • Comfort teaching over video. You can keep one student engaged online and use a shared screen or digital whiteboard to show working.

These are helpful but not required:

  • Clarifying terms in Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin. Some students first learned science terms in another language, so it is helpful if you can bridge a term when needed.
  • Familiarity with SPM marking. Experience with how SPM answers are marked, including examiner or marking experience, is helpful for teaching exam technique.

How we select teachers

Our selection follows the same teacher standard that every member of our team meets. It has five parts.

  1. Experience review. We look at your CV and your history of teaching SPM / KSSM Chemistry.
  2. Subject and syllabus knowledge check. We confirm your subject background and your familiarity with the current KSSM syllabus and paper format.
  3. Interview and sample lesson. We talk with you and watch you teach a short lesson, so we can see how you explain a difficult idea and help a student who is stuck.
  4. Fit for one-to-one online teaching. We check that you can teach clearly over video and keep a single student engaged.
  5. Ongoing review. Once you are teaching, we listen to parent feedback and continue to review lessons, so the standard holds over time.

How pay works

Pay is from RM50/hr, depending on your experience and availability. Your rate is agreed with you directly on WhatsApp before you begin teaching.

We discuss the details openly in that conversation. If you have questions about how your rate is set, ask us there and we will explain.

How to apply

Applications are made on WhatsApp only. The steps are simple:

  1. Tap the apply button on this page. It opens WhatsApp with a short message already written for you.
  2. Send the message. Add your name and a line about your Chemistry teaching experience if you like.
  3. Send your CV in the same chat. A PDF or document file is ideal.
  4. We reply and arrange the next steps. If your experience fits the role, we will set up the knowledge check, interview and sample lesson with you.

You do not need a cover letter. Your CV and a few lines about how you teach SPM Chemistry are enough to begin.
