Here is a home-based teaching role for Labuan: SPM Chemistry, Form 4 and 5, one student per lesson. It is freelance and part-time, from RM50/hr depending on your experience and availability.
Teaching from Labuan
Teachers living anywhere in Labuan can apply here. The towns listed below each have their own posting, but the role is the same across the state.
Labuan is a federal territory island off the coast of Sabah, where specialist SPM Chemistry help can be hard to find locally.
A teacher in Labuan can have a student in Kuching on Monday and one in Johor Bahru on Wednesday. Online teaching takes the map out of the timetable.
There is no centre to travel to and no fixed classroom in Labuan. Your commute is the walk to your laptop, which leaves more of your time for teaching itself.
The work
Our students are Form 4 and 5 candidates preparing for SPM Chemistry, and every lesson is one to one. You explain, they try, and you correct in the moment, all in English.
The timetable is built around the slots you give us, not the other way round. Change in your circumstances later? Tell us on WhatsApp and we adjust.
You will cover the KSSM Form 4 and 5 chapters and the way SPM papers mark them. Clear explanations and well-chosen practice matter more here than speed.
Part-time here means your hours, not ours. Share your weekly availability in the application and we will only offer lessons that fit it.
What we look for
- Experience teaching SPM / KSSM Chemistry
- Familiarity with the current syllabus (SPM 4541) and Papers 1, 2 and 3
- Clear English, the language of our lessons
- A quiet space, a reliable connection and a device with a camera
How to apply
Send us the application message on WhatsApp, then attach your CV in that chat. We reply on WhatsApp to arrange the next step.
