Teach SPM Chemistry online from Kota Marudu

Teaching from Kota Marudu

Kota Marudu sits in the Kota Marudu district of Sabah. Teachers living anywhere in the district, or elsewhere in Sabah, are welcome to apply.

Kota Marudu sits at the head of Marudu Bay, roughly 130 kilometres north of Kota Kinabalu along the federal road that runs up toward Kudat and the northern tip of Borneo. The town takes its name from the fort, the *kota*, raised near Marudu Bay in the nineteenth century by the local leader Sharif Osman, and the district today is farming country: its annual Maize Festival honours the crop that anchors much of the local economy, and spots like Sorinsim Waterfall lie in the hills beyond the padi and the plantations.

In a full classroom a single shaky topic can slip past unremarked for weeks.

Many teachers in Kota Marudu already teach some classes online and like the focus it gives. With us, every lesson works that way, one student at a time.

The work

Our students are Form 4 and 5 candidates preparing for SPM Chemistry, and every lesson is one to one. You explain, they try, and you correct in the moment, all in English.

Freelance means you stay in control of your week. You can grow your hours as you settle in, or keep them light during busy school terms.

Each lesson is one teacher and one Form 4 or 5 student, working through the KSSM Chemistry syllabus and SPM exam technique. Lessons are taught in English, the language our students sit the paper in.

School holidays and the months before SPM tend to be busier. If you can offer extra hours then, say so, and keep a lighter load the rest of the year.
