Use your SPM Chemistry experience in Ranau to teach one student at a time, online. The role is freelance and part-time, paid from RM50/hr according to your experience and availability.
Teaching from Ranau
Ranau sits in the Ranau district of Sabah. Teachers living anywhere in the district, or elsewhere in Sabah, are welcome to apply.
Ranau sits in the shadow of Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in Malaysia, and much of the district falls within Kinabalu Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearby Kundasang is known for its cool climate, its rolling vegetable farms and dairy pastures, and its war memorial, while Poring Hot Springs lies in the lowland corner of the park not far from the town.
In a full classroom a single shaky topic slips past easily.
There is no centre to travel to and no fixed classroom in Ranau. Your commute is the walk to your laptop, which leaves more of your time for teaching itself.
The work
Each lesson is one teacher and one Form 4 or 5 student, working through the KSSM Chemistry syllabus and SPM exam technique. Lessons are taught in English, the language our students sit the paper in.
You tell us the hours you can teach, and we plan lessons inside them. Many of our teachers fit lessons around school hours, family time or other work.
You teach one student at a time, so every lesson is built around what that student needs next. Expect mole calculations one week and Paper 3 practical answers the next.
Freelance means you stay in control of your week. You can grow your hours as you settle in, or keep them light during busy school terms.
What we look for
- Experience teaching SPM / KSSM Chemistry
- Familiarity with the current syllabus (SPM 4541) and Papers 1, 2 and 3
- Clear English, the language of our lessons
- A quiet space, a reliable connection and a device with a camera
