Here is a home-based teaching role for Marudi: SPM Chemistry, Form 4 and 5, one student per lesson. It is freelance and part-time, from RM50/hr depending on your experience and availability.
Teaching from Marudi
Applying from Marudi or elsewhere in Marudi? The role is identical across Sarawak, and your town simply goes into your WhatsApp message.
Fort Hose, built in 1898 on a low hill above the Baram, once governed this whole stretch of northern Sarawak from the days of the White Rajahs, when Marudi, then briefly called Claudetown, was the administrative centre of the Baram before Miri grew up on the coast. The fort is a museum now, and the river below it is still what defines the place: for generations the Baram has been the highway inland, carrying people and goods between the coast and the deep interior, up towards the Kelabit Highlands and Bario.
For a town where distance has always shaped daily life, that is a genuine change.
Living in Marudi is no obstacle, because every lesson happens over video. You teach from your own desk, and the student joins from theirs, wherever they are in Malaysia.
The work
Students come to us for help with the hard parts of SPM Chemistry: the mole, electrochemistry, organic chemistry and Paper 3 practicals. You teach those ideas in English, at the pace one student needs.
Evenings and weekends are when most students want lessons, which suits teachers with a day job. If you have daytime slots too, mention them.
The teaching is focused: SPM Chemistry for Form 4 and 5, one student per lesson, in English. You bring the explanations and exam know-how, and we bring the students.
There is no minimum timetable set on this page; your availability shapes the work. Tell us your days and times, and we take it from there on WhatsApp.
What we look for
- Experience teaching SPM / KSSM Chemistry
- Familiarity with the current syllabus (SPM 4541) and Papers 1, 2 and 3
- Clear English, the language of our lessons
- A quiet space, a reliable connection and a device with a camera
How to apply
Send us the application message on WhatsApp, then attach your CV in that chat. We reply on WhatsApp to arrange the next step.
