Teach SPM Chemistry online from Bau

Teaching from Bau

This posting covers Bau and the surrounding Bau district in Sarawak. If you live nearby but not in Bau itself, apply anyway and tell us your town.

Hakka Chinese miners opened the first gold workings here in the 1820s, and two centuries of that trade shaped the place, the old kongsi settlements, the mining tunnels, and above all Tasik Biru, the striking blue lake that fills a worked-out open-cut pit beside Gunung Krian.

Sarawak is Malaysia’s largest state, spread along the Borneo coast from Kuching to Sibu, Bintulu and Miri.

Teachers in Bau often tell us the hardest part of private tuition is the travel between homes. With us that disappears, since each lesson is online and one to one.

From Bau, the only tools you need are a laptop or tablet, a camera and a pen for worked examples. We share questions and notes on screen during the lesson.

The work

Our students are Form 4 and 5 candidates preparing for SPM Chemistry, and every lesson is one to one. You explain, they try, and you correct in the moment, all in English.

The timetable is built around the slots you give us, not the other way round. Change in your circumstances later? Tell us on WhatsApp and we adjust.

A typical lesson mixes concept teaching with exam questions, taught in English over video. Because it is one to one, you can slow down or speed up for the student in front of you.

You tell us the hours you can teach, and we plan lessons inside them. Many of our teachers fit lessons around school hours, family time or other work.
