Teach SPM Chemistry online from Betong

Teaching from Betong

This posting covers Betong and the surrounding Betong district in Sarawak. If you live nearby but not in Betong itself, apply anyway and tell us your town.

Betong lies in the Saribas, a region long regarded as a heartland of Iban culture. Its history is written into the land: Bukit Sadok, the hill nearby, was the stronghold of the Iban warrior Rentap, who resisted the White Rajahs in the mid-1800s, and the district is dotted with well-known longhouses along its rivers.

Sarawak is Malaysia’s largest state, spread along the Borneo coast from Kuching to Sibu, Bintulu and Miri.

Because lessons run online, your location in Betong only matters for one thing: a quiet room and a steady connection. Everything else, from notes to past-year questions, is shared on screen.

Teachers in Betong often tell us the hardest part of private tuition is the travel between homes. With us that disappears, since each lesson is online and one to one.

The work

Each lesson is one teacher and one Form 4 or 5 student, working through the KSSM Chemistry syllabus and SPM exam technique. Lessons are taught in English, the language our students sit the paper in.

Part-time here means your hours, not ours. Share your weekly availability in the application and we will only offer lessons that fit it.

Students come to us for help with the hard parts of SPM Chemistry: the mole, electrochemistry, organic chemistry and Paper 3 practicals. You teach those ideas in English, at the pace one student needs.

Evenings and weekends are when most students want lessons, which suits teachers with a day job. If you have daytime slots too, mention them.
