Teach SPM Chemistry online from Tangkak

Teaching from Tangkak

Tangkak sits in the Tangkak district of Johor. Teachers living anywhere in the district, or elsewhere in Johor, are welcome to apply.

Tangkak sits below Gunung Ledang, the highest mountain in Johor, whose forested slopes rise just a short distance from the town. Down in the town itself, Tangkak is known across the country as a fabric town: the shops along Jalan Payamas draw buyers looking for everything from batik to bridal cloth, and the trade has given the place its nickname, "Syurga Kain".

Johor is Malaysia’s southern gateway, from Johor Bahru on the Singapore border to the towns of Muar, Batu Pahat and Kluang.

There is no centre to travel to and no fixed classroom in Tangkak. Your commute is the walk to your laptop, which leaves more of your time for teaching itself.

Teachers in Tangkak often tell us the hardest part of private tuition is the travel between homes. With us that disappears, since each lesson is online and one to one.

The work

A typical lesson mixes concept teaching with exam questions, taught in English over video. Because it is one to one, you can slow down or speed up for the student in front of you.

School holidays and the months before SPM tend to be busier. If you can offer extra hours then, say so, and keep a lighter load the rest of the year.

Some students want to rescue a weak foundation; others are aiming for an A. One-to-one lessons let you teach both well, because the plan is built for one person.

The timetable is built around the slots you give us, not the other way round. Change in your circumstances later? Tell us on WhatsApp and we adjust.
