Teach SPM Chemistry online from Kulai

Teaching from Kulai

Kulai sits in the Kulai district of Johor. Teachers living anywhere in the district, or elsewhere in Johor, are welcome to apply.

Kulai is the capital of its district, set among the rubber and oil palm estates that have shaped this part of Johor for generations, Malaysia's first FELDA oil palm settlement, Taib Andak, lies nearby. The town itself has grown around the Bandar Putra township and IOI Mall, while Senai International Airport and the Indahpura development sit just to the south.

Nearby Kelapa Sawit is a long-established Chinese New Village with a Hakka community, and the Hua Guo Shan temple and cultural park draws visitors up its low hill. The Malay community is strong in the FELDA settlements and around town, while Kelapa Sawit and the older village areas have a well-rooted Chinese, largely Hakka, community.

Home languages span Malay, Mandarin, Hakka and other dialects, and Tamil in the estates.

You can be based anywhere in Kulai and still teach a full timetable of students. Online lessons mean your students may be in another state entirely.

The work

A typical lesson mixes concept teaching with exam questions, taught in English over video. Because it is one to one, you can slow down or speed up for the student in front of you.

You might teach two evenings a week, or most weekday afternoons; both work. Put your real availability in the application so lessons fit your life.

Each lesson is one teacher and one Form 4 or 5 student, working through the KSSM Chemistry syllabus and SPM exam technique. Lessons are taught in English, the language our students sit the paper in.
