Teach SPM Chemistry online from Kulim

Teaching from Kulim

Applying from Kulim or elsewhere in Kulim? The role is identical across Kedah, and your town simply goes into your WhatsApp message.

Kulim carries a nickname earned over the last three decades: the high-technology town. In the older town centre, the memorial clock tower still marks the heart of Kulim, and the two sit side by side, a settled market town and a modern industrial estate.

But the crossing is the cost: the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway carries heavy traffic, and a weeknight drive over to Seberang Perai or the island, then back, can swallow an evening whole. One dependable weekly slot at home beats a nightly run across the border.

Home languages include Malay, Mandarin and dialect, and Tamil in the town's Indian community.

A teacher in Kulim can have a student in Kuching on Monday and one in Johor Bahru on Wednesday. Online teaching takes the map out of the timetable.

The work

Each lesson is one teacher and one Form 4 or 5 student, working through the KSSM Chemistry syllabus and SPM exam technique. Lessons are taught in English, the language our students sit the paper in.

Freelance means you stay in control of your week. You can grow your hours as you settle in, or keep them light during busy school terms.

A typical lesson mixes concept teaching with exam questions, taught in English over video. Because it is one to one, you can slow down or speed up for the student in front of you.
