Teach SPM Chemistry online from Baling

Teaching from Baling

We list this role for Baling, in Kedah’s Baling district, so local teachers can find it. The work is the same wherever in Kedah you live.

Rising sharply behind the town is Gunung Baling, a dramatic limestone peak of around 546 metres that hikers climb for the view over the district. The town also holds a real place in the nation's story: it was here, in a modest schoolroom in 1955, that the Baling Talks were held between the government and the Communist Party of Malaya, a chapter now kept at the local negotiation gallery.

Beyond the town the district is green and rural, hills, rubber and oil-palm smallholdings, and scattered kampung. On winding inland roads, in the evening, that is simply not sustainable week after week.

For a household in a remote district, one dependable weekly slot at home is worth a great deal.

Many teachers in Baling already teach some classes online and like the focus it gives. With us, every lesson works that way, one student at a time.

The work

Our students are Form 4 and 5 candidates preparing for SPM Chemistry, and every lesson is one to one. You explain, they try, and you correct in the moment, all in English.

You tell us the hours you can teach, and we plan lessons inside them. Many of our teachers fit lessons around school hours, family time or other work.

A typical lesson mixes concept teaching with exam questions, taught in English over video. Because it is one to one, you can slow down or speed up for the student in front of you.
