Kuala Ketil takes its name and its shape from water: it grew up where the Ketil River joins the Muda, and in the early days that confluence made it a small river port and trading point. Today it is one of the commercial and light-industrial hubs of the Baling district, a supply town for the plantations, smallholdings and kampung spread across the surrounding country, with industrial lots that have brought factories and jobs to the area.

Kedah, the “rice bowl” of Malaysia, runs from Alor Setar and Sungai Petani to Langkawi and the Perlis border.

From Kuala Ketil, the only tools you need are a laptop or tablet, a camera and a pen for worked examples. We share questions and notes on screen during the lesson.

The work

Our students are Form 4 and 5 candidates preparing for SPM Chemistry, and every lesson is one to one. You explain, they try, and you correct in the moment, all in English.

Freelance means you stay in control of your week. You can grow your hours as you settle in, or keep them light during busy school terms.

Students come to us for help with the hard parts of SPM Chemistry: the mole, electrochemistry, organic chemistry and Paper 3 practicals. You teach those ideas in English, at the pace one student needs.

Evenings and weekends are when most students want lessons, which suits teachers with a day job. If you have daytime slots too, mention them.
