Cameron Highlands is Malaysia's best-known hill station, a cool, green plateau of tea gardens, vegetable farms and strawberry stalls strung along a winding mountain road. The BOH tea plantation at Sungai Palas is one of the most famous sights in the country, and the townships of Ringlet, Tanah Rata and Brinchang each have their own character, from the traveller-friendly main street of Tanah Rata to the busy market town of Brinchang and the Sam Poh Temple above it.

Pahang is Peninsular Malaysia’s largest state, from coastal Kuantan to the Cameron Highlands and inland Jerantut.

You can be based anywhere in Cameron Highlands and still teach a full timetable of students. Online lessons mean your students may be in another state entirely.

There is no centre to travel to and no fixed classroom in Cameron Highlands. Your commute is the walk to your laptop, which leaves more of your time for teaching itself.

The work

Each lesson is one teacher and one Form 4 or 5 student, working through the KSSM Chemistry syllabus and SPM exam technique. Lessons are taught in English, the language our students sit the paper in.
