Teach SPM Chemistry online from Taiping

Teaching from Taiping

Teachers from Taiping and across the Larut, Matang and Selama district of Perak can apply here. Your state is prefilled in the message, so just add your details.

The Taiping Lake Gardens, laid out on a worked-out tin mine in 1880, were Malaysia's first public park, and their old rain trees arch over the water like nowhere else in the country. Nearby stands the Perak Museum, the oldest museum in the nation, while above the town sits Bukit Larut, the oldest hill station, and one of the wettest places in Malaysia, which is why Taiping is fondly called the "Rain Town." It is a green, unhurried place with a proud schooling history.

Perak stretches from Ipoh and the Kinta Valley down to Teluk Intan and up to Taiping and Kuala Kangsar.

A teacher in Taiping can have a student in Kuching on Monday and one in Johor Bahru on Wednesday. Online teaching takes the map out of the timetable.

From Taiping, the only tools you need are a laptop or tablet, a camera and a pen for worked examples. We share questions and notes on screen during the lesson.

The work

A typical lesson mixes concept teaching with exam questions, taught in English over video. Because it is one to one, you can slow down or speed up for the student in front of you.

School holidays and the months before SPM tend to be busier. If you can offer extra hours then, say so, and keep a lighter load the rest of the year.

Some students want to rescue a weak foundation; others are aiming for an A. One-to-one lessons let you teach both well, because the plan is built for one person.

You might teach two evenings a week, or most weekday afternoons; both work. Put your real availability in the application so lessons fit your life.
