Teaching from Batu Gajah

Applying from Batu Gajah or elsewhere in Kinta? The role is identical across Perak, and your town simply goes into your WhatsApp message.

Batu Gajah grew up with the tin boom, and it still carries the mark of that era in its old shophouses, colonial-era buildings and the quiet grandeur of the town by the Kinta River. Its most famous landmark stands just outside town: Kellie's Castle, the unfinished mansion begun by the Scottish planter William Kellie-Smith in the early 1900s and left half-built after his sudden death, a romantic ruin of Moorish arches and hidden staircases that draws visitors from across the country.

Around it lie the golf courses and old estates of the district.

From Batu Gajah, the only tools you need are a laptop or tablet, a camera and a pen for worked examples. We share questions and notes on screen during the lesson.

The work

Students come to us for help with the hard parts of SPM Chemistry: the mole, electrochemistry, organic chemistry and Paper 3 practicals. You teach those ideas in English, at the pace one student needs.

Part-time here means your hours, not ours. Share your weekly availability in the application and we will only offer lessons that fit it.

The teaching is focused: SPM Chemistry for Form 4 and 5, one student per lesson, in English. You bring the explanations and exam know-how, and we bring the students.

School holidays and the months before SPM tend to be busier. If you can offer extra hours then, say so, and keep a lighter load the rest of the year.
