What the Form 4 year asks of you
Form 4 is the foundation year of the SPM Chemistry course, subject code 4541, and the way you build it decides how Form 5 feels. Its eight chapters move from Introduction to Chemistry and Matter and the Atomic Structure, through The Mole Concept with Chemical Formulae and Equations, The Periodic Table of Elements and Chemical Bond, then Acids, Bases and Salts, Rate of Reaction, and Manufactured Substances in Industry.
Acids, Bases and Salts is a chapter where many KK students lose their footing. It packs a lot together: the role of water in showing acidic and alkaline properties, the pH scale, neutralisation and titration arithmetic, and the long logic of preparing soluble and insoluble salts with the right method.
It rewards a student who can follow a chain of steps, not one who memorises a single example. We build that method carefully, one reasoned step at a time.
How our Form 4 lessons work
One-to-one teaching means the lesson follows one student, not a class average. We keep pace with what the KK school is covering this term, then loop back to shore up whatever is unsteady, from a salt-preparation flowchart to a titration sum read the wrong way.
Sessions sit on the DSKP content standards, and we build exam habits from the start: clean working, correct units, and answers written to match the question. We bring in the Paper 1 and Paper 2 styles through the year and begin the science process skills Paper 3 tests, so the practical is not new in Form 5.
The Malay and Chinese terms a KK student already uses are supported alongside the English.
