What the Form 4 year asks of you
Form 4 is the foundation year of the SPM Chemistry course, subject code 4541, and it is where a student learns to think like a chemist. Its eight chapters open with Introduction to Chemistry and Matter and the Atomic Structure, then run through The Mole Concept with Chemical Formulae and Equations, The Periodic Table of Elements and Chemical Bond, Acids, Bases and Salts, Rate of Reaction, and Manufactured Substances in Industry.
Matter and the Atomic Structure is where a lot of Seremban students either lock in the subject or start to drift. Protons, neutrons and electrons, isotopes, electron arrangement and relative atomic mass are abstract, and if they stay vague the mole work that follows never quite makes sense.
We slow this chapter down and make the invisible concrete, because almost every later chapter quietly assumes it. Introduction to Chemistry then sets the lab habits, safety and measurement that Paper 3 will test.
How our Form 4 lessons work
One-to-one teaching means the lesson follows one student, not a class average. We keep pace with what the Seremban school is teaching this term, then loop back to strengthen whatever is shaky, from an electron-arrangement diagram to a formula that will not balance.
Sessions rest on the DSKP content standards, and we build exam habits from the start: neat working, correct units, and answers written to fit the question. We introduce the Paper 1 and Paper 2 styles through the year and begin the science process skills Paper 3 assesses, so nothing in the practical is met cold in Form 5.
The Malay and Chinese terms a Seremban student already uses are supported alongside the English.
