We teach online one-to-one SPM Chemistry lessons in English for students in Penampang, Sabah, from RM50 an hour after a paid one-hour trial. Lessons follow KSSM and DSKP and reach the whole valley.

We are an independent online tutoring service offering one-to-one SPM Chemistry lessons to students in Penampang, the Kadazandusun heartland just south of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Our teachers work with one student at a time, in English, following the KSSM curriculum and DSKP standards, and lessons run from RM50 an hour after a paid one-hour trial.

Because the lessons are online, they reach you at home wherever you live in the district.

Penampang is one of Sabah’s cultural anchors. Its town centre at Donggongon is marked by the great sigar roundabout, a monument shaped like the traditional Kadazan headgear, and a short way along Jalan Penampang stands the KDCA Hongkod Koisaan, the Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association centre that hosts the state’s Kaamatan harvest festival each May.

This is the seat of the Huguan Siou, the community’s paramount leadership, and the green Penampang valley with the Moyog River running through it has been settled and farmed for generations. For the Form 4 and Form 5 students who grow up here, though, the pressing question is the everyday one: how to turn effort in Chemistry into marks on the SPM paper.

Online one-to-one fits Penampang well. Although the district sits right beside the state capital, its homes spread far up the valley into villages away from the main road, and the specialist SPM Chemistry tuition tends to be found across the boundary in Kota Kinabalu.

Evening traffic along the Penampang and Lintas corridors into the city is heavy and slow. An online lesson removes the trip completely: no drive into KK, no waiting, no distance to cover.

An experienced teacher is available at a desk at home, and the whole hour is Chemistry.

The SPM students of Penampang are largely Kadazandusun, alongside Sino-Kadazan, Chinese and Malay families, and they study mostly at national secondary schools (SMK) across the district, some also at long-established mission schools. Many grow up speaking Kadazandusun or Malay at home and meet the English of the Chemistry paper mainly in class.

In a full classroom a single shaky topic slips past easily. One-to-one lessons put the individual back at the centre: the teacher works at one student’s pace, finds exactly where the marks are leaking, the mole concept, acids, bases and salts, electrochemistry, organic chemistry, and spends the hour there instead of reteaching what is already solid.

We teach in English to match the SPM Chemistry paper (subject code 4541), while supporting the Malay terms a Penampang student already uses, so nothing built up at home or in class is lost. We cover Paper 1, Paper 2 and the Paper 3 practical, rehearsing how to identify variables, tabulate readings, plot a graph and write a conclusion that matches the marking scheme, so none of it is new in the exam hall.

Lessons are led by our experienced SPM Chemistry teachers experience.

If you are preparing for SPM Chemistry in Penampang or anywhere in the valley, send us a WhatsApp message. Tell us your form and the topics that worry you, and we will arrange a paid one-hour trial so you can feel how a focused, one-to-one lesson works before committing to anything further.

Common questions from Penampang

Do you teach SPM Chemistry students in Penampang and around Donggongon?

Yes. Because lessons are online and one-to-one, we reach students throughout Penampang, Donggongon, Kepayan, Putatan side and the villages up the valley, with no drive into Kota Kinabalu. Fees are from RM50 an hour after a paid one-hour trial, and lessons follow KSSM and DSKP.

Can a Penampang student keep the Kadazandusun and Malay they use at home while learning in English?

Yes. We teach in English to match the SPM Chemistry paper, and we support the Malay terms a Penampang student already uses in class. The mother tongue at home is never a barrier; everything stays within KSSM and DSKP.
