What Form 4 Chemistry actually covers
Form 4 is the foundation year of the SPM Chemistry course, subject code 4541, and almost everything sat in Form 5 leans on it. The year moves through eight chapters, Introduction to Chemistry, Matter and the Atomic Structure, The Mole Concept with Chemical Formulae and Equations, The Periodic Table of Elements, Chemical Bond, Acids, Bases and Salts, Rate of Reaction, and Manufactured Substances in Industry.
The place most Form 4 students in Kajang lose ground is the mole. Converting between mass, number of particles using the Avogadro constant 6.02 x 1023 mol−1, and the volume of a gas at room conditions (24 dm3 mol−1) is a new kind of thinking, and if it stays shaky the balancing of equations and every later calculation stays shaky with it.

We keep pace with what the Kajang classroom is covering this month, then quietly go back and repair the earlier link, electron arrangement, ionic and covalent bonding, or writing a correct formula, the moment a gap shows.
Every session is tied to the DSKP content standards, and from the start we build the habits Form 5 will demand: setting out a calculation clearly, carrying correct units, and reading a question for exactly what it asks. We introduce the Paper 1 and Paper 2 question styles early and begin the science process skills that Paper 3 assesses, so none of it feels new next year.
