We provide online one-to-one SPM Chemistry lessons for students in Gurun, Kedah, taught in English with bilingual term support, from RM50 an hour.
We are an independent online tuition service offering one-to-one SPM Chemistry lessons to students who live in Gurun, a town in the Kuala Muda district of Kedah. Lessons are taught in English, follow the KSSM curriculum, and begin with a paid one-hour trial.
Chemistry help in an industrial highway town
Gurun sits on the main road and rail spine of the peninsula, and its modern identity is industrial. The Gurun industrial area is best known for its automotive manufacturing, the large vehicle assembly plant established here in 2002, later part of the Stellantis group, along with the vendors and supporting factories around it.
Rising to the west, the forested massif of Gunung Jerai dominates the skyline for miles, a familiar marker for anyone driving the highway past the town. It is a working community shaped by shift schedules and the plants along the corridor, with schools serving both the town and the kampung around it.
Swap the drive down the corridor for a lesson at home
For a Gurun family, the larger tuition centres tend to sit south down the highway in Sungai Petani, and a weeknight round trip is time a Form 4 or Form 5 student cannot easily spare, especially in a household where a parent works factory shifts and evenings are already tightly scheduled. Online one-to-one lessons remove the journey.
A Gurun student joins an experienced SPM Chemistry teacher from home at a fixed weekly time, and the whole hour goes into Chemistry rather than the road. Because the lesson is one to one it follows a single student, pausing on the idea that will not settle, moving quickly through what is already secure, the way a full class cannot.
A fixed weekly slot at home is also far easier to plan around a shift than a nightly run to a centre.
Who our Gurun students are
Students here mostly sit SPM from national secondary schools (SMK) in the town and the surrounding mukim, with many coming from families who work in the area’s automotive and manufacturing industry, and religious and boarding options in the wider district. Malay is the common home language, and the SPM Chemistry paper, subject code 4541, is examined in English.
That switch between the classroom and the exam paper is where many capable students lose marks, so we teach in English, the language of the paper, while keeping the Malay terms a student already knows within reach, so an idea such as a mole, an electrolyte or an exothermic reaction is understood from either side and written down correctly under time.
How the lessons work
Every session is anchored to the KSSM syllabus and DSKP content standards the school teaches, so our lessons reinforce classwork. We prepare all three papers: the objective questions of Paper 1, the structured and extended answers of Paper 2, and the practical assessment of Paper 3, where we coach planning a fair test, tabulating readings, plotting graphs and drawing conclusions the data supports.
Because Chemistry builds on itself, a one-to-one teacher can return to a weak early topic, chemical formulae, the mole concept, electrochemistry, and repair it while keeping pace with current work, then move toward timed practice and precise marking-scheme wording as SPM nears.
Every lesson is taught by one of our own experienced SPM Chemistry teachers. A new student begins with a paid one-hour trial, and regular lessons run from RM50 an hour in a fixed weekly slot.
If you are a parent or a Form 4 or Form 5 student anywhere in Gurun, send us a WhatsApp message with the school, the current grade and the topics that feel hardest, and we will suggest where a first lesson should start.
